Separation Anxiety

dog-separationSeparation anxiety in dogs is one of the trickier and least understood behaviors. Its severity ranges from mild anxiety to a wild panic that leads dogs to injure themselves and engage in devastating destructive behaviors.

The barking, howling, house soiling, and destructive behavior associated with this condition can be extremely difficult to live with. Watching a beloved pet suffer and having no idea what to do can be even worse.

Don’t despair. We can help. We’ve solved countless separation anxiety problems through a proven systematic process that gets to the root of your dog’s anxiety.

Contact us today to schedule a consult. We’ll come meet your dog, evaluate his anxiety, and design a custom plan to help you help your dog overcome his fear of being home alone. Target the Anxiety; Not the Behavior:

Punishing behaviors like barking and destructive chewing that so often accompany separation anxiety will likely make the problem worse. The key to solving this problem is overcoming the dog’s fear, which involves a very different skill set than obedience training. Make sure to work with a qualified behavior professional.

How it Works:

  • Free Phone Consult: The amount of work necessary to overcome separation anxiety varies depending on its severity.  Contact us to schedule a free phone consult.  After 10 or 15 minutes of Q&A, we can give you a ballpark idea of the severity of your dog’s anxiety and what it might take to overcome it.
  • In-Home Behavior Consult: To really know what’s going on with your dog, we’ll need to come to your home to do a thorough evaluation and design a custom training plan that fits your schedule and lifestyle. The fee is $195.
  • Follow-up Training: We do most follow-up training for separation anxiety remotely.  It doesn’t require hour-long weekly sessions like most training.  Instead, we have you send us videos of sessions and do short check-ins by phone or video conference.
  • Fees:  Fees for follow up training depend on how often we need to check in.  Some of our clients with mild cases just need a 5-minute check-in each week for a few weeks, and we don’t charge any additional fees at all.  Others need to send multiple videos and do longer check-ins.  Those can run from $35 – $75/week for 6-12 weeks.
